Research and Graduate Education

Improving health through knowledge.

The Health Sciences Office of Research and Graduate Education is dedicated to teaching and training skilled and knowleadgeable scientists who are focused on investigating the health challenges that exist in West Virginia and developing the innovative cures and solutions to improve health of our state. We attract the best and brightest talent from around the world to advance scientific discovery through collaborative efforts and partnerships, and to build multidisciplinary research teams, which elevates the academic experience for our students.

Discovery through graduate education.

Our graduate programs are a major focus of the educational mission of the five health schools housed at the WVU Health Sciences campus. For our students, this represents the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, test theories in a supportive, team-focused environment, and curate the skills to conduct research that will benefit future generations.

With a variety of doctoral, master's and T32 training programs, there are multiple pathways for our students to get involved in hands-on bench and clinical research.
